Sorry for not replying. My question about the woman being paid was answered. I heard on the news tonight that there were enough signatures collected to force a referendum. Wonder how many she collected. (Just kidding).

Yep, me too. The only consistency however is a town lack of consistency for a policy about either political campaighns or collecting signatures at the Transfer Station. Shouldn't take much to do.

I do know quite a few folks who are asking for signatures who are not getting a penny. Don't have a clue who she is or who she is working for.

Assuming it was still the same crowd all week, the petition was to repell the gay marriage bill that just passed. And she told Clint they were being paid per signature.

When I was at the transfer station on Saturday, there was a woman collecting signatures out side the gate. Do you know what organization the woman was collecting signatures for? Did she tell you she was being paid for collecting signatures?

People suggest that those who campaign from out of state be required to buy a daily dump permit to gather signatures, and split the income from the signatures, they are paid per signature you know, with the town. Residents would not be required to pay, since they would already have a dump sticker. Little extra wouldn't hurt, eh ?

The do as I say crowd is at it again. One of the candidates was up in arms because his opponent campaigned at the dump, and as a Selectman he made sure the person, a town employee, stood out by the gate, not on town property, to hand out flyers.

Go to the dump now, and there is an out of stater, not a resident of Waterboro, collecting signatures for a religious issue in Maine. And she is parking inside the dump area, standing near the hopper. And making money doing this. They...
